,,I smESO? <br />o 20 Minnesota <br />n 1- Department of Transportation <br />a <br />$, _ _ : 4 District 9 <br />T , 3485 Hadley Avenue North, Box 9050 <br />OF TRP� North St. Paul, Minnesota 55109 <br />January 10, 1985 <br />Mr. Joseph Chlebeck <br />City Clerk <br />515 Little Canada Road <br />St. Paul, Minnesota 55117 <br />Dear Mr. Chlebeck: <br />Telephone 779 -1178 <br />SUBJECT: C.S. 6280(I35E East & West Ramps- Country Drive) <br />at Little Canada Road <br />Traffic Signal Revisions <br />As part of our bridge widening project at the I -35E and Little Canada Road <br />interchange, we will be installing temporary traffic signals during the <br />bridge widening /interchange reconstruction portion of the project and <br />permanent traffic signal systems after the road construction portion of <br />the project is complete. <br />The preliminary estimated cost for the temporary and permanent signal systems <br />at each ramp intersection is $120,000.00. We will request Federal funds <br />for the temporary and permanent traffic signal systems. If available, <br />the State will assume the non - Federal share of the construction costs. <br />We propose that the maintenance of these temporary and permanent signal <br />systems be shared as follows: <br />Ramsey County will clean, paint, and relamp the traffic <br />signal system. <br />- Little Canada will provide power to the signal system and <br />will maintain the street lights. <br />- The State will provide all other maintenance <br />If the City of Little Canada wishes to have emergency vehicle pre - emption <br />installed at these signal systems, we will need an official request to <br />do so. <br />If you have any questions or comments, please contact either Mr. Curtis <br />Gobeli or Mr. Bruce Kastner. <br />Sincerely, <br />Kermit K.
