In addition to a license, an operator must <br />obtain from the commissioner an annual nontransferable license for each video game <br />of chance. The license fee is 5120 per game. The fee must be prorated according to <br />the number of months remaining in the calendar year at the time of the license <br />application. <br />Subd. 2. Collection. At the time a video game of chance is sold to an <br />operator, the distributor must collect the license fee specified in subdivision 1. The <br />distributor must affix to each game a stamp containing the operator's license <br />number. All license fees must be given to the state treasurer for deposit in the <br />account created in subdivision 3. <br />Subd. 3. Video gaming license account. There is created in the state treasury <br />an account to be known as the "video gaming license account." All fees received by <br />the state treasury pursuant to this section must be credited to this account. The <br />commissioner shall, by January 10 of each year, certify to the state treasurer the <br />number of video games of chance located in each city, and in each county outside of <br />incorporated areas, on December 31 of the previous year. Within ten days of <br />receiving this certification the state treasurer shall pay from the video gaming license <br />account to each city and county' 530 for each video game of chance located in the <br />city or in the county outside city limits. After making these payments he shall <br />transfer the unexpended balance in the account to the general fund. <br />Subd. 4. Local fees prohibited.
