St' <br />RE <br />Appendix A <br />Summary of Eligible Activities <br />o Acquisition <br />Acquisition of blighted, deteriorated, undeveloped properties, or properties <br />appropriate for rehabilitation, conservation or beautification; provision of <br />public works, facilities and improvements; use for other public purposes <br />including conversion of land to other uses where necessary. <br />o Disposition <br />Disposition of property acquired with block grant funds through sale, lease, <br />donation or retention of public purposes, as well as temporarily managing such <br />property acquired under urban renewal. <br />® Public Facilities and Improvements <br />Installation of architectural design features to enhance the aesthetic quality <br />of parks, playgrounds and other neighborhood activities; solid waste disposal <br />defined as necessary site improvements, conveying systems and vehicular <br />container, fire protection as defined or improvements to support property <br />storing fire equipment, therefore, maintaining the safety and welfare of the <br />public; parking facilities; streets, water and sewer; foundation, platforms and <br />air rights sites; pedestal walls and walkways; flood and drainage and other <br />improvements in support of neighborhood revitalization or new construction; <br />clearance, demolition and removal of buildings. <br />o Rehabilitation <br />Rehabilitation of residential structures; modernization of publicly -owned units; <br />provide materials, tools for use and services; financing the rehabilitation <br />through grants, loans, interest supplements for costs of repairs, replacement of <br />fixtures and renovation of existing structures; measure of energy efficiency of <br />structures and connections of residential structures to water and sewer lines; <br />services such as counseling, work specifications, loan processing, code <br />enforcement activities and historic preservation activities. <br />a Economic Development Assistance <br />Assistance directed toward the alleviation of physical and economic distress <br />through stimulation of private investment, community revitalization, and <br />expansion of economic activities for low and moderate income persons. The <br />assistance may include acquisition of real property for development purposes, <br />public facilities and energy conservation improvements. <br />o Activities by Non -Profit Organizations, <br />Corporations (Public and Private) <br />.Assistance through grants, ; loans, guarantees <br />assistance to new or existing small business <br />property improvements and fixtures. <br />Local Investment /Development <br />interest supplements or technical <br />in the form of land, structures, <br />e Plannin , Urban Environment Design and Administrative Expenses <br />Assistance to develop or update a comprehensive community development plan, <br />planning activities, design and environmental activities, codes, ordinances and <br />regulations for implementation of a community plan. Payments of reasonable <br />administrative costs for management and coordination, necessary travel, <br />y contracts, legal, accounting and audit service, and citizen organization <br />participation activities. <br />2.9 <br />20 <br />
