St' RE Appendix A Summary of Eligible Activities o Acquisition Acquisition of blighted, deteriorated, undeveloped properties, or properties appropriate for rehabilitation, conservation or beautification; provision of public works, facilities and improvements; use for other public purposes including conversion of land to other uses where necessary. o Disposition Disposition of property acquired with block grant funds through sale, lease, donation or retention of public purposes, as well as temporarily managing such property acquired under urban renewal. ® Public Facilities and Improvements Installation of architectural design features to enhance the aesthetic quality of parks, playgrounds and other neighborhood activities; solid waste disposal defined as necessary site improvements, conveying systems and vehicular container, fire protection as defined or improvements to support property storing fire equipment, therefore, maintaining the safety and welfare of the public; parking facilities; streets, water and sewer; foundation, platforms and air rights sites; pedestal walls and walkways; flood and drainage and other improvements in support of neighborhood revitalization or new construction; clearance, demolition and removal of buildings. o Rehabilitation Rehabilitation of residential structures; modernization of publicly -owned units; provide materials, tools for use and services; financing the rehabilitation through grants, loans, interest supplements for costs of repairs, replacement of fixtures and renovation of existing structures; measure of energy efficiency of structures and connections of residential structures to water and sewer lines; services such as counseling, work specifications, loan processing, code enforcement activities and historic preservation activities. a Economic Development Assistance Assistance directed toward the alleviation of physical and economic distress through stimulation of private investment, community revitalization, and expansion of economic activities for low and moderate income persons. The assistance may include acquisition of real property for development purposes, public facilities and energy conservation improvements. o Activities by Non -Profit Organizations, Corporations (Public and Private) .Assistance through grants, ; loans, guarantees assistance to new or existing small business property improvements and fixtures. Local Investment /Development interest supplements or technical in the form of land, structures, e Plannin , Urban Environment Design and Administrative Expenses Assistance to develop or update a comprehensive community development plan, planning activities, design and environmental activities, codes, ordinances and regulations for implementation of a community plan.
