Draft on Community Centers <br />Mike Fahey <br />July 10, 1985 <br />Community Center /land or buildings/ owned and used by a <br />governmental agency or semi - public /non - profit organization <br />for educational, recreational, and multiple human service <br />purposes which are intended to primarily benefit the <br />residents of the City of Little Canada and the Cities which <br />surround it. "Primary benefits" means that at least 50% of <br />the physical facility must be used by the owner /operator <br />for qualified in -house programs which are designed to <br />service the residents of the City of Little Canada and the <br />Cities which surround it. Operating costs may be defrayed <br />by the rental of the remainder of the facility to other <br />governmental agencies or semi - public /non - profit <br />organizations, for the purposes stated herein, not to <br />exceed 10% of the gross floor area of the facility for any <br />one lessee. <br />A Community Center may not include any use which is <br />determined by the City Council to constitute a detriment to <br />the health, safety and general welfare of the residents of <br />the city. <br />Neighborhood Center - A Neighborhood Center would be <br />similar in structure and scope to a Community Center, but <br />would be smaller in size and intended for the use of the <br />residents within the immediate vacinity of the Center. <br />31 <br />
