Tom's Auto Sales and Budget Auto Thol Home Occupation As suggested by the Council, I talked with the owner of Tom's Auto Sales about the number of vehicles parked in his lot. , He realized that he had too many, and has made arrangements to store the excess vehicles at a location in Vadnais Heights. Also, he will be sure the vehicles that have been involved in collisions will be covered with tarpaulins. He seemed to be sincere in wanting to comply with the Council's wishes. I also spoke with the owner of Budget Auto. He agreed to move the cars back that are parked in the center portion of the property. He said that the Council granted him a permit to operate a busi- ness in an accessory building. Joe and I have researched the Council minutes, but have not found anything relating to this permit. Request - Mr. Thol is requesting that he be allowed to add 840 square feet to his existing building making a total area of 1,568 square feet. Ordinance Requirements - Permitted home occupations Section 903.120 - E2 A through E do not require a permit. Mr. Thol's use would be a special home occupation under Section 903.120 - E3 A through D which would require a permit. An accessory building over 1,000 square feet requires a condi -. tional use permit. Section 903.020 D4. Recommendation - Mr. Thol has operated his home occupation since 1971 and there has not been any complaints from surrounding land owners. He does not employ any person other than his
