MINUTES
City Council
Sept. 11, 1285
School
Board
Election
Agenda
Addition
Steneroden
Proposal
& The
Schrier
Property
Agenda
Addition
Mr. Fahey reported that there would be a School Board Election on
October 15. Fahey urged all residents to become familiar with the
redistricting issue that would be a part of the election.
Mr. Fahey reported that he met with Rocky Waite regarding the Steneroden
property. Mr. Waite will also be approaching the individual Council
members.
Mr. Waite is proposing to access his development through the Schrier
property. Mr. Waite has tried to negotiate with Schrier for access,
but these negotiations have failed.
Mr. Fahey suggested that the Council consider declaring a moratorium
on the development of the property abutting the Steneroden property,
so that access to that property cannot be blocked. The City may have
to consider condemning property in order to get access to the Steneroden
property.
Mr. Fahey stated that if the Council likes the Steneroden development
proposal, it may be in the long term interest of the City to have
access from Schrier's development.
Ms. Nardini thought there may be the potential for taking a portion of
two lots for access to the Steneroden property.
Mrs. Scalze stated that if the City condemned property, the cost of
doing so would go on the Steneroden development.
Fahey reported that the Steneroden development will be considered at
the September 25 Council meeting.
Mr. Collova suggested that Mr. Schrier be informed of a moratorium if
one is called.
Scalze stated that she was not agreeable to putting a road in that would
be commercial on one side and residential on the other. Scalze pointed
out that the City would have the same situation as is currently on Park
Street.
Mr. Blesener suggested that any moratorium that is called be kept to the
bear minimum. It was the concensus of the Council that a 60 day moratorium
should be called.
Mr. Fahey introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. S.5- 9 -4C.7 - DECLARING A MOR ATORIUM ON
THE ISSUANCE OF ANY B'UiLDI: G PERMITS TO '!R.
