AGREEMENT FOR INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE OF TRAFFIC CONTROL SIGNALS AND EVP SYSTEM AGREEMENT NO. 86001 THIS AGREEMENT, by and between the City of Little Canada, Minnesota, a municipal corporation, hereinafter referred to as the "City," and Ramsey County, a political subdivision of the State of Minnesota, hereinafter referred to as the "County"; WITNESSETH: WHEREAS, there will be Agreement No. 62905, negotiated between the County, City and the State of Minnesota, Department of Transportation, to provide traffic control signals and emergency vehicle pre - emption system, hereinafter referred to as the "EVP System," at the intersection of Little Canada Road (County State Aid Highway No. 21) and Centerville Road (County Road No. 139); and WHEREAS, the EVP System is for the sole use and benefit of the City; and WHEREAS, the County and City will participate in the cost, maintenance and operation of said traffic control signals with streets lights and EVP System as hereinafter set forth; and NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS AGREED AS FOLLOWS: I. The County shall cause the installation of a traffic control signal and EVP system at the intersection of Little Canada Road (County State Aid Highway No. 21) and Centerville Road (County Road No. 139) in accordance with State Aid Project 62- 621-04. 2. Estimated construction cost of the traffic control signal is $44,082.25. The County share is 66 2/3%. The City's share is 33 1/3 %. 3. Construction costs of the EVP system shall be 100% City under the terms and conditions set forth in Minnesota Transportation Department Traffic Control Signal Agreement No. 62905. 4. The County shall install or cause the installation of an adequate electrical power supply to the service pole including any necessary extensions of power lines. Upon completion of the signal and EVP System installations, necessary electrical power for their operation shall be at the sole expense of the County. In accordance with the Policy for Lighting County Roadways, County Board Resolution 78 -1394, the County shall maintain and pay energy costs of the integral street lighting. 5. Upon execution of this agreement and a request in writing by the County, the City shall advance an amount equal to its share of the traffic control signal construction cost based on actual bid price plus six percent (6 %) of such amount for the City's share of the cost for engineering and inspection. 6. Upon final payment to the Contractor and computation of the City's share for the work provided for herein, that amount of the funds advanced by the City in excess of the City's share shall be returned to the City without interest and the City agrees to pay to the County that amount of the City's share which is in excess of the amount of the funds advanced by the City. 86001 Page 1 of 3
