Little Canada, MN. 55117 Dear Mr. Chlebeck: At its meeting 9 December 1985, the Legislative Committee of the Board of Ramsey County Commissioners considered the matter of suburban court consolidation. At that time, the Committee reviewed the attached letter from William J. Fleming, Judge of Ramsey County Municipal Court. After considerable discussion, the Legislative Committee recommended the County Board seek legislation to amend Minnesota Statutes, Section 488a.18, Subdivision 10 by adding a new subdivision which would read: "Place of Holding Court. The County of Ramsey shall provide suitable quarters for the holding of regular terms of court at all places where court sessions are conducted. Regular sessions shall be conducted in the City of St. Paul and one other location within the County, but outside the City of St. Paul, as may be designated by a majority of the Ramsey County Board of Commissioners." This recommendation will be considered by the Board of Ramsey County Commissioners at its regular meeting on Monday, 27 January 1986 at 10 a.m. in the Council Chambers of the City Hall and Courthouse, 15 W. Kellogg Blvd., St. Paul. For your additional information, we have included a copy of the Ramsey County League of Local Governments' Court Consolidation Report of 17 December 1982. Please plan to attend this hearing or have a representative present so that all points of view might be reviewed prior to a decision by the Board.
