MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />AUGUST 9, 2006 <br />PRE-EMPTION County's cost allocation includes City participation for Rice <br />Street/Country Drive, but not Rice Street/694. The Agreement between <br />the City and the County reflects Chat change. <br />Blesener noted that given the City's previous commitment to participate in <br />the cost of the Rice Street/694 signal, the issue should be discussed with <br />the County. <br />Ms. Allan introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2006-8-782 -APPROVING THE PLANS FOR <br />TRAFFIC SIGNAL EMERGENCY VEHICLE PRE-EMPTION AND <br />THE RELATIVE AGREEMENT WITH RAMSEY COUNTY <br />INCLUDING ANY MODIFICATION TO THE AGREEMENT <br />SHOULD THERE BE ADDITIONAL COST TO THE CITY <br />ASSOCIATED WITH ITS PARTICIPATION IN THE COST OF THE <br />RICE STREET/694 SIGNALS, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR <br />AND CITY ADMINISTRATOR TO EXECUTE THE AGREEMENT <br />ON BEHALF OF THE CITY <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Keis. <br />Ayes (4). <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />PURCHASING/ The City Administrator reviewed the Finance Director's report dated <br />PETTY CASH August 9, 2006 recommending modifications to the City's purchasing <br />POLICIES & policy as well as an increase in the Petty Cash Fund. The Administrator <br />PROCEDURES explained the process wherein vouchers are approved by the Council at <br />each regular meeting. Given the periodic need for a purchase outside that <br />timeframe, the Finance Director is implementing a manual check <br />procedure to provide better documentation of any manual checks issued. <br />These manual checks will then be submitted for review by the Council <br />along with voucher review. <br />The Administrator also noted that the Finance Director is recommending <br />an increase in the Petty Cash Fund balance from $200 to $400 to cover <br />small purchases thaC are needed. <br />Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2006-8-783 -APPROVING AND ADOPTING <br />THE MODIFICATIONS TO THE CITY'S PURCHASING POLICY <br />AND PETTY CASH FUND <br />
