108. Permitted Use. A use which may be lawfully established in a particular district or districts, <br />provided it conforms with all requirements, regulations, and performance standards (if any) of <br />such districts. <br />109. Person. An individual, firm, partnership, association, corporation, or organization of any kind. <br />109.1 Porch. A covered entrance to a building, usually with a separate roof, <br />110. Principal Use. The main use of land or buildings as distinguished from subordinate or accessory <br />uses. A "principal use" may be either permitted or conditional. <br />11.1. Public Use. Uses owned or operated by municipal, school district, county, state, or other <br />governmental units. <br />*112. Public Waters (Protected Waters). Any waters of the State which serve a beneficial public purpose <br />as defined by Minnesota Statutes 1974, Section 105.37, Subdivision 14. However, no lake, pond <br />or flowage of less than ten (10) acres in size and no river or stream having a total drainage area less <br />than two (2) square miles need be regulated by the municipality For the purposes of these regulations. <br />A body of water created by a private user where there was no previous shoreland as defined herein <br />for a designated private use authorized by the Commissioner shall be exempt from the provisions of <br />these regulations. The official determination of the size and physical limits of drainage areas of <br />rivers and streams shall be made by the Commissioner of Natural Resources. The official size of <br />lakes, ponds, or flowoges shall be the areas listed in the Division of Waters, Soils and Minerals <br />Bulletin 25, an Inventory of Minnesota Lakes, or in the event that lakes, ponds or flowages are <br />not listed therein, official determination of size and physical limits shall be made by the Commissioner <br />in cooperation with the City of Little Canada. <br />113. Public Waters - General Development. Those waters whose shores are generally characterized <br />by industrial, commercial or high density residential development as determined by the Minnesota <br />Deportment of Natural Resources Standards and Criteria for the Management of Municipal Shore - <br />land Areas of Minnesota (Minn, Reg. NR 82). <br />114. Public Waters - Recreational Development. Those waters whose shores are generally characterized <br />by medium density residential development with or without limited service- oriented commercial <br />development as determined by Minn. Reg. NR 82. <br />115. Public Waters - Natural Environment. Those waters whose shores are generally characterized by <br />low density, single family residential development as determined by Minn. Reg. NR 82. • <br />116. Quadraminium. A single structure which contains four separate dwelling units, all of which have <br />ind ividua I I y sepa rate entrances. <br />117. Recreation- Field or Building. An area of land, water, or any building in which amusement, <br />recreation or athletic sports are provided for public or semipublic use, whether temporary, except <br />a theatre, whether provision is mode for the accommodation of an assembly or not. A golf course, <br />arena, baseball park, stadium, circus or gymnasium is a recreation field or building for the purpose <br />of this Ordinance. <br />118. Recreation Vehicle. A self - propelled vehicle which is used primarily for recreational purposes. <br />119. Reach (Flood). A hydraulic engineering term to describe a longitudinal segment of a scream or <br />river influenced by a natural or man -made obstruction. In an urban area, the segment of a <br />stream or river between two consecutive bridge crossings would most typigally constitute a reach. <br />120, Regional Flood. A flood which is representative of large floods known to have occurred generally <br />in Minnesota and reasonably characteristic of what can be expected to occur on an average <br />frequency in the magnitude of the one hundred (100) year recurrence interval. <br />*Amended by Ordinance No. 214, July 27, 1983 ) <br />10 <br />28 <br />
