/ARYAN C
J
SURVEYING & ENGINEERING CO.
September 13, 1986
Mr. Robert Bode
3006 N. Rice Street
Little Canada, MN 55113
Dear Robert:
612'541 -0500
5811 S. CEDAR LAKE ROAD, MINNEAPOLIS, MN 55416
At your request we have conducted a preliminary
investigation of soil conditions on the South 158 feet of
the West 183 feet of the Northwest Quarter of the Northwest
Quarter of Section 6, Township 29, Range 22, Ramsey County,
Minnesota. The property is located at 3006 N. Rice Street
in Little Canada, Minnesota. We understand that you are
considering construction of an addition to your root beer
stand there.
The investigation consisted of exploratory soil borings to
aid in identifying soil and water conditions. The borings
were taken at the locations indicated on the attached site
plan.
INVESTIGATION METHODS:
A total of 2 test borings were taken on March 28, 1986 with
a truck mounted auger drill at the locations indicated on
the enclosed site plan. Mineral soils encountered in the
borings were texturally classified with the U.S. Bureau of
Chemistry and Soils Classifications System. A copy of that
chart is attached. Elevations shown are based on an assumed
elevation of 100 for Rice Street and are approximate.
RESULTS:
BORING. LOG SHEETS indicating the depth and identification of
the various soil strata and water level information are
attached. The borings encountered 4 inches of 'asphalt,
then 4 feet of firm brown silty sand then 5 feet of firm
browns sand and finally 5 feet of firm brown silty sand.
The borings were probed to detect ground water immediately
after completion and were found to be dry. Even in borings
where no ground water is observed immediately, some may seep
in over a period of time.
2 t
