Pope Associates Inc.
September 9, 1986
Mr. Joseph Chlebeck
City Clerk
City of Little Canada
515 Little Canada Road
Little Canada, MN 55117
Dear Mr. Chlebeck:
Architects Engineers Planners
533 St. Clair Avenue Telephone: 612/291 -8894
St. Paul, MN 55102 -2895
I am writing you to request that my name be sumbitted for consideration, for
appointment to the Little Canada City Planning Commission. I am a resident of
Little Canada (my address is: 2350 Dianna Lane, Little Canada, MN 55117)
and, as I hope will be ably demonstrated below, I believe I am eminently
qualified to serve on the Commission.
A native Minnesotan, I have lived here all my life except for two years spent
working in Australia. I am a graduate of the University of Minnesota,
receiving my Bachelor of Architecture degree there in 1973. I have been a
practicing architect since that time.
Since 1975 I have been vice - president of Pope Associates Inc., a 24- person
architectural and engineering firm in St. Paul. Pope Associates is a very
active firm, having completed over 1,200 projects just since 1980. We have
had projects in virtually every community in the metropolitan area.
As a result of this large volume of work, I have been able to view first -hand
the workings of the planning commissions in all of these communities. I
believe I have gained a very thorough understanding of the difficulties facing
the members of these commissions and I believe that, as an active resident of
Little Canada, I also have a good sense of the needs, goals and values of our
community. I am very willing to serve on the Commission and I believe I can
add an invaluable level of expertise and professional understanding to the
work of that body.
I would be most willing to meet with members of the City administration to
discuss this request further, if that is desired.
Respectfully submitted,
POPE‘ ASSOCIATES
Jon R.
