It
would be desireable to connect these two mains with a new 1211
watermain. My feasibility report includes an estimate of cost
to construct the entire 2000 feet of 1211 watermain as well as an
estimate of cost to construct the 500 feet of 1211 watermain as
petitioned.
Construction work on the Little Canada - Shoreview Interceptor
is scheduled to begin about October 1, 1977 at South Owasso Blvd.
and it is estimated that it will take about a month to reach the
Burlington Northern Railroad. A 20 foot permanent easement exists
for construction of the 3611 sanitary sewer. The construction limits
extend 75 feet on each side of the centerline of the proposed
sanitary sewer. Any peat encountered in the sewer trench will be
removed and replaced with common borrow (suitable backfill material).
This is true for the sewer trench only and not the entire future
street right -of -way. Incidentally, the proposed sanitary sewer on
Spruce Street will be constructed 28 feet east of the existing
watermain on Spruce St. and therefore, will not interfere with the
watermain. As long as the sewer contractor is working on the sewer
construction, we cannot move into this area to construct watermains
0006
SEP 21 1977
CITY 0,
LITTLE CANADA.
