Minnesota 56378
352-3664
Sept. 9, 1977
Re: Drainage on Old County Road C from Jackson
Street to Lakeshore Avenue
The Ramsey County Highway Department has a plan for
improving Old County Road C from Jackson Street to a point
360 feet easterly. A drainage problem exists at the easterly
end of this project. I recommend that this drainage problem
be corrected as follows:
1. Plug the culvert that crosses County Road C
in the middle of the block (Estimated Cost $10.0)_
2. Furnish and install 3 - 15" CMP culverts on the
south side of County Road C. Each culvert
to be 30 feet long (Estimated Cost $1400)
3, Deepen ditch. an average of 3 feet on south Side
for 500 feet (Estimated Cost $1500)
4, Sod ditch (Estimated Cost $500)
Therefore, the total estimated cost of this, construction
work is $350.0., The net effect of this project will be to keep
the water (that falls on the north side of the road) on the
north side of the road. Also, the• water from the south side of the
road would he confined to the new ditch constructed along the
south side of the. road. The ditch would be deep enough to drain
most of the water that collects in the back yard of the house on
the south side of the street in the middle of the block. However,
some filling would be necessary in the black yard and also some
ditching will be necessary to convey the water to the highway ditch,
This work would be done by the property owner.
0017
