Chlebek <br />City of Little Canada <br />515 Little Canada Road <br />Little Canada, MN 55117 <br />Dear Mr. Chlebek: <br />Your City's resolution to participate in the Section 8 Existing <br />Housing (Rent Assistance) Program has been received by <br />HRA. <br />As you may know, there are 43 communities currently involved in fami <br />the program, which presently is funded to susidizet1,490 fanilies <br />b on <br />and elderly persons. Metro HRA will apply community uny <br />in 1977, and when this funding is approved, your <br />be allocated a share of the subsidy funds along with the other <br />communities in the program. The number of subsidy units allocated <br />to each community is based on two factors: the community's goal <br />in the Metropolitan Council's Allocation Plan for Subsidized <br />Housing, and the number of rental units in the community avail- <br />able for use with the Section 8 Program. <br />In order to determine the extent ot DowhhicTetherprogramvcanlietused <br />in your community, we ask that you P c <br />all identifiable rental properties and providing the types of <br />T,e <br />information shown on the attached rent survey out}line. p <br />rent survey for Brooklyn Park is attached also. In order to <br />complete our application for HUD funding on time, we will need <br />the rent survey no later than April 1, 1977. <br />Staffing for the Rent Assistance Program can be handled in several <br />ways. Most communities provide a local staff person, generally <br />part-time, to handle direct services to lower - income app <br />Reimbursement for these local staff costs is prove ve edaby Metroces <br />HRA. A few communities have doubled up to p rpr <br />(i.e., Excelsior operates a local application office for Excelsior <br />and Greenwood).
