34 E. South Owasso Blvd.
St. Paul, Mn. 55117
July 7, 1978
City of Little Canada
Little Canada, Mn. 55717
Re: 34 E. South Owasso Blvd.
Lorretta M. Inott
Gentlemen:
This is to advise you of the tensible situation that exists at South Owasso
Blvd. and the Waterworks right -of -ray.
One would only have to drive down here while it is raining or even now
several days after a heavy rain to see for themselves the terrible situation
the City of Little Canada has put me in drainage.oaise. I would like to know
who in the world ever thought I gave permission to have all the water from
the railroad tracks east drain down South Owasso Blvd, only to empty entirely
on nay property. If I am not mistaken, it is against the law to drain water
on other peoples property. Then, why would you slope a road to drain all
that on me?
Something has got to be done immediately to correct thisl The sand from
driveways clear up on the hill as far as the railroad tracks has filled the
small curbing down here only to let every drop of water coming down South
Owasso Blvd. to run over my bank and form a stagnant pond on my land. You
should have seen the river here this past weekll Picture yourselves in my
position.
MY HOUSE HAS ALL BUT FLOATED AWAY THIS PAST WEEK AND I MUST SAY I AM A VERY
NERVOUS WRECK BECAUSE OF THIS STUPID SITUATION WHICH YOU'VE PUT ME IN111
When they were in the process of putting this road in. I told them they could
not drain that water on my land and was assured they would construct it so
that the water would go right on down to the swamp. I would like to have
anyone who had anything to do with this, come down and take a good look for
themselves.
I want somthing done at once even if it means digging a ditch so that the water
can be drained to the ditch in the swamp...where it should be going in the first
place. My land does not have an outlet which means it has to stay there until
it seeps away. Namely, in my basement; which cannot take any more. Nor MY-
septic tank.
Page 1
16
Jul 10 1978
CITY OF
LITTLE CANADA
