five (5) days after such seizure and impoundment. Before the owner shall be <br />permitted to resume possession of such dog he shall pay to the City Clerk,or <br />to such agent as the Council may designate, all fees and costs of seizure and <br />impoundment together with a deposit in the nature of payment of bail if the City <br />officer or agent issues a complaint against such owner or custodian for violation <br />of this Code. <br />1101.070. IMPOUNDING DOGS. At the expiration of five (5) days from the time <br />a dog is impounded as provided for herein and if said dog has not been reclaimed <br />in accordance with the provisions hereof, such dog may be killed according to the <br />most humane and approved method or otherwise disposed of as directed by the City <br />Council. <br />1101.080. VICIOUS DOGS. The City Council, its officers or agents, shall <br />have the power to order the destruction of any dog which is deemed dangerous and <br />vicious after three (3) days written notice to and an opportunity afforded the owner <br />or keeper of such dog to be heard. Whenever it shall appear to the satisfaction <br />of the City Council, its officers or agents, that any dog whilerunning at large <br />has bitten one or more persons, such dog shall be deemed a vicious dog. <br />1101.090. LICENSE AND REGISTRATION REQUIRED. All dogs over three months <br />of age kept, harbored or maintained within the City shall be licensed and registered. <br />Dog licenses will be issued by the City Clerk upon payment of a license fee of <br />$10.00 for each dog and shall be valid for a period of two years at which time the <br />license must be renewed. The fee for renewal shall be $4.00 and all renewals <br />shall be subject to the provisions of Section 1101.110 of this chapter. The applicant <br />shall give the following information on forms provided by the Clerk: <br />Owner's name and address; name, breed (if known), color and <br />sex of the dog. <br />The provisions of this Section shall not be intended to apply to dogs whose <br />owners are visitors temporarily in the City for sixty days or less, to dogs brought <br />into the City for appearance in a dog show, or to "seeing eye" dogs trained to <br />assist blind persons when such dogs are actually being used by blind persons as <br />"seeing eye" dogs. <br />Any owner of three or more dogs which come within the requirements of this <br />Section shall be required to obtain a special permit from the City Clerk which <br />shall be in a nature of a kennel license. The cost of said permit shall be $ <br />and application therefor shall be made upon forms provided by the office of the <br />City Clerk. Said permit shall be renewable every five years and upon each renewal <br />a new application will be submitted and a renewal fee paid in the amount of $ <br />1101.100. DOG TAGS. Upon payment of the license fee the Clerk shall issue <br />to the owner a license certificate and a metallic tag which shall have stamped <br />thereon the number corresponding with the number on the license certificate and <br />the name and address of the owner. Every owner shall be responsible for the tag <br />being worn by the dog at all times. In the event a tag becomes lost, destroyed <br />or rendered illegible for any reason a duplicate shall be applied for immediately <br />and will be issued by the Clerk upon presentation by the owner of the license <br />certificate and payment of a fee in the amount of $2.50. Dog tags shall not be <br />transferable from one dog to another and all licenses shall automatically expire <br />upon the death of the dog. <br />
