117 East Bluwood Avenue
Little Canada, MN 55117
February 24, 1978
Clerk, City of Little Canada
515 Little Canada Road
Little Canada, MW 55117
Dear Sir:
I wish to apply for appointment to the Little Canada Park com-
mission. I am 21 years old, and have been a resident of Little Cana-
da all my life. Because I an single, I feel that I will have ample
tithe to devote to this position. I am currently attending the College
of Saint Thomas, and will graduate in May of this year.
I have been involved with the recreational programs in Little
Canada as a coach for the past six years. In addition, I have been a
member of the Little Canada Recreation Association Incorporated since
1973.
As an employee of the City, I have been active in virtually eve-
ry aspect of the development of Carl Spooner Bicentennial Park since
its inception in 1975. As a result, I have a very good knowledge of
the park as it now stands, in addition to some ideas on improvements
that can be made to this and other parks that may be constructed in
our city. As further evidence of my interest in the development of
our park, I am enclosing a copy of the research paper I completed in
1976 entitled "Spooner Park -- The Wants and Needs of the People of
Little Canada."
Because of the various ways I have been associated with the con-
struction, use, and enjoyment of our park, I feel that I am well
qualified to become a member of the Little Canada Park Commission.
enclosure
Sincerely,
M. Steven Morelan
51
FEB 27 1978
CITY OF
LITTLE CANADA
