CONTRACT <br />This agreement made this Nov. 20, 1978 , by and between <br />Metropolitan Animal Patrol Service, Inc., a Minnesota Corporation, <br />hereinafter referred to as M.A.P.S.I. and the City of Little Canada <br />, a Municipal Corporation located in the County of <br />Ramsey and the State of Minnesota hereinafter referred <br />to as City, witnesseth: <br />In consideration of the covenants and agreements hereinafter <br />set forth, it is mutually agreed by and between the parties hereto <br />as follows: <br />1. This agreement shall be effective as of; the Jan. 1, 1979 , <br />and shall continue in effect until <br />Dec. 31, 1979 <br />2. M.A.P.S.I. agrees to patrol the public streets of :Little <br />Canada <br />in a vehicle specially designed for the transpor- <br />tation of small animals, in accordance with a schedule agreed <br />upon by both parties. <br />3. M.A.P.S.I. agrees that patrolling shall be done by compe- <br />tent personnel trained in the handling of animals, and that such <br />employees shall be approved by the City's Chief of Police at the <br />City's request. Such employees shall be.;deputized by the City <br />with such police powers as are necessary for the apprehension <br />and retention of dogs, cats, and other animals, and such emplo- <br />yees shall also be furnished with special police badges by the <br />Chief of Police. However, M.A.P.S.I. will not invade the private <br />property contrary to the wishes of the owner of said pr.operty.nor <br />forcibly take an animal from any person without the approval and <br />assistance of a regular police officer of the City. <br />0(065 <br />
