RESOLUTION NO. <br />RESOLUTION BY THE CITY OF REQUESTING THE <br />MINNESOTA HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT TO CONSTRUCT NOISE <br />BARRIERS ALONG INTERSTATE IN <br />WHEREAS, the City of is concerned about the <br />noise pollution associated with Interstate which affects <br />the health and welfare of the residents adjacent to the <br />freeway; and <br />WHEREAS, the State of Minnesota Highway Department has <br />completed a study which indicates that due to high noise <br />levels, certain areas along Interstate in rank <br />high in priority to receive federal and state funding to <br />construct noise barriers at no cost to the City; and <br />WHEREAS, a public meeting was held to receive comments <br />from residents adjacent to the freeway regarding a proposal <br />from the Minnesota Highway Department for construction of <br />noise barriers; and <br />WHEREAS, a majority of the residents affected by the <br />proposed improvement indicated that they were in favor of <br />the noise barriers; and <br />WHEREAS, a second public information meeting will be <br />scheduled to receive comments regarding plans and specifi- <br />cations prepared by the Minnesota Highway Department. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council <br />fo the City of requests the Minnesota Highway <br />Department to proceed with design of plans and specifications <br />to construct noise barriers along both sides of to <br />protect those residential areas adjacent to this freeway. <br />ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />THIS DAY OF , 1975. <br />Attest: <br />u• 001 <br />
