MARTE, M.D.
M. TANASICHUK, M.O.
City Council
City of Little Canada
Little Canada,Minnesota
Gentlemen re Sleepy Hollow burm (completion of..)
After completion of the dirt moving and grading of the burm some 3 weeks
ago I talked with Mr. Gottwald on at least two occasions about when the
burm would be sodded so as to finish the project. Mr. Gottwald indicated
that sodding had not been contemplated or approved by the Council, and
therefore it would have to be discussed at the June meeting. This letter
is intended to review what was agreed to before the burro was started. It
has always been my understanding that sodding was included in the project.
I say this for three reasons:
1. August 26 -75, Mr. Gottwald and I met at the site and discussed what
would be done, and we discussed also sodding to finish the burm. This
was agreed to verbally. August 27 -75 I wrote to Mr. Gottwald to confirm
what we had agreed upon (see copy of letter attached). Item #6 in my
letter states that sodding will be done.
2. Mr. C.Parks forwarded to my attorney a copy of the Bidder's Proposal
Foim for letting out the contract. This proposal includes 3 items -the
berm, the two culverts with flap gates, and "sod, complete in place ".
3. An engineers drawing of the beam to be built shows the ff. ppecificatio:
Excavation 950 cu yds,sod 1000 sq.yds, CMP 40 ft.,2 flap gates.
I am sure that you have copies of items 2 & 3, or they are available to yo
so I am not including them here.
Therefore I do not understand why the agreements made and the specificatio
made are not adhered to now. A suggestion has been made to seed the berm.
I cannot agree to this because it would take at least a full season's
growth to cover the area and in this dry season growth would be very slow,
and also because the appearance of the dirt berm spoils the back yard
for the tenants with the berm and fence taking up considerable area.
Finally, a great deal of time and energy has been expended in trying to
solve the problem of the overflowing pond (and considerable money on my pa .
as well). I would appreciate it if the work would be completed as we agree
to as soon as possible for everyone's sake.
Thank you for your assistance.
Respectfully
M.A.Tanasichuk,MD
0912
