Office of:
JOSEPH G. CHLEBECK, Clerk
615 Little Canada Road
Little Canada, Minn. 55117
484-2177
CITY OF LITTLE CANADA
RAMSEY COUNTY, MINNESOTA
DATE: August 16, 1976
TO: City Council
FROM: L. Squires
Building Inspector
RE:
Permit Fees
MAYOR" .
Donald V elento
COUNCILMEN.
Robert DeBace
Raymond Hanson. Jim Veilleux
Morris "Murf' Jespersen
Recent Laws providing for emergy conservation requirements in all
structures and the work to be done for the Ramsey - Washington Metro
Watershed District has increased the workload for your office staff
and the inspectors. Because of this and °anticipated new growth, I
urge c 'sncil consideration of new building permit fee schedules.
The fee schedule of Table 3A of the uniform Building Code is pres-
ently being used by St. Paul, Minneapolis, Roseville, Arden Hills,
Shoreview, New Brighton, Vadnais Heights, Falcon Heights, No. St.
Paul, White Bear, and most other local municipalities. This table
is based strictly on valuation and thus is easy to apply, eliminating,
the need for caculations. As Building Inspector, I usuall accept the
estimated valuation of the applicant but if I feel it is too far off,
then I would calculate my own valuation.
I believe the increased revenues for building permits is needed to
offset the increased work loads.
Respectfully submitted,
L.
