Chlebeck <br />Clerk City of Little Canada <br />515 East Little Canada Road <br />Saint Paul, Minnesota 55117 <br />Re: Request for "No Parking Zone" <br />Divisions of : <br />Engineering <br />Maintenance <br />Motor Vehicle <br />Environmental <br />(612)484-9104 <br />The County Engineers Office has received a resolution from the <br />City Council of Vadnais Heights requesting the establishment of <br />a 'No Parking Zone" on the north side of County Road D from <br />Edgerton Street to Labore Road. <br />Presently the north side of County Road D has a "No Parking Zone" <br />from Arcade Street to 500' east, the south side is zoned from <br />200' west of Arcade Street to Labore Road. The Vadnais Heights <br />resolution was prompted by a request from their Fire Department as <br />on street parking is occurring adjacent to the Northwood Villa <br />Apartment Complex, making access by emergency vehicles very difficult. <br />The north side 'No Parking Zone" will alleviate the Vadnais Heights <br />problems but could cause vehicles to park on the south (Little Canada) <br />side where signs are not posted. If you and your City Council feel <br />this could be a problem please have the council adopt the necessary <br />resolution requesting the county to establish a 'No Parking Zone" <br />on the south side of County Road D from Edgerton Street to Labore <br />Road. <br />I will not submit the Vadnais Heights request until we have received <br />your reply, so as to include it when sent to the County Board. <br />Paul Kirkwold, P.E. <br />Traffic Services Engineer <br />026 <br />
