January 15, 1980 <br />Ramsey County Engineers Department <br />3377 North Rice Street <br />Saint Paul, Minnesota 55112 <br />Mr. Joseph Chlebeck <br />Clerk <br />City of Little Canada <br />515 East Little Canada Road <br />Little Canada, Minnesota 55117 <br />Emergency Vehicle Pre - emption (OPTICOM) <br />Divisions of <br />Engineering <br />Maintenance <br />Motor Vehicle <br />Environmental <br />(612)484 -9104 <br />In an effort to program emergency vehicle pre - emption (EVP) installation <br />on County -owned signal systems, we request your assistance by providing <br />us with certain criteria to program these installations in a fair and <br />equitable manner. <br />As you may already know, the County Board has adopted resolutions which <br />authorize the installation of four EVP systems per year with County Road <br />and Bridge funds providing: the City assures Ramsey County they propose <br />to purchase or use such a system, pay energy costs of the signal and EVP <br />system, and agree to reimburse maintenance costs of the EVP system to <br />the County. <br />To have a better understanding of how you plan to utilize such a system, <br />we request the enclosed questionnaire and map be completed.
