COMMISSION <br />JULY 31, 1980 <br />The Little Canada Park Counuission July 31, 1980 regular meeting was <br />called to order at 7:30 p.m. by Chairman Carl Spooner at the City Center. <br />Members present included Lois Runyon, Bill Sanders, Jim Morelan, Bev <br />Scalze, Joe Donovan and Edith Schultz. <br />Mrs. Scalze reported on Council action regarding Park fund distribu- <br />tion, the St. Jude development and confirmation of the present formula <br />for collection, and 36 month restriction. <br />Bill Sanders reported Daly & Son's have committed to blacktopping <br />the Park trail system after Canadian Days. <br />Discussion followed regarding the Puppet.:Wagon and Play held at the <br />Band Shelter. The concept uses the facility, but much greater publicity <br />and diversification should be looked at for future planning. It was the <br />recommendation of this body that the activity be pursued in the 1981 summer <br />season. <br />Jim Morelan reported that the Bocce Ball court had been completed, <br />but the (Park) benches in the tennis court were not yet installed. <br />Edith Schultz reported on the communication received from Paul Borg <br />(Of the Roseville School's) denying the use of chain linked posts across <br />school property, The matter will be discussed again with Mr. Borg, since <br />it is the concensus that 5 or 6 ft. chain link fencing was not in keeping <br />with the present eye appeal concept. <br />Joe Donovan reported that there had been electrical vandalism to at <br />least three units in the Park. <br />Discussion then turned to the proposed five year plan for Parks, the <br />possible locations for expansion and the need for constituency input. An <br />information survey form will be prepared for review at the next meeting. <br />The City Planner is available for consultation on the 4th Monday of each <br />month. Mrs. Scalze reported, after debate P.C. members recommend that a <br />new development site map be submitted to this Body concurrently with the <br />Planning Commission (for evaluation and immediate input if necessary). <br />On motion duly made, seconded and unanimously carried the Park Commis -, <br />sion accepted in concept the long range proposal for park planning, imple- <br />menting whatever action may be necessary to accomplish that goal within <br />the City Planner's guidelines. <br />There being no further business the meeting was adjourned at 9:40 p.m. <br />Edith Schultz <br />Secretary <br />i0 <br />
