LANDSCAPE SCREENING PETITION
I 694 - Adjacent to Twin Lake Trail
Little Canada
To the Mayor and City Council of Little Canada:
We the undersigned, residents and property owners of homes along
Twin Lake Trail in Little Canada, adjacent to Interstate 694,
request that the City Council adopt a resolution requesting that
the Minnesota Department of Transportation install a landscape
screen along Interstate 694 to visually screen the traffic from
the residential housing along these city streets.
A landscape screen, consisting of berming and selected deciduous
and evergreen plant materials, would provide psychological and
visual relief from the heavy daily traffic volumes along this
freeway corridor. While this type of treatment would not lessen
the noise levels at each of the (iy1) homes, such a screen would
visually block out the noise source providing psychological relief.
This type of screen will also lessen the effect of dust and other
pollutants eminating from freeway traffic. In addition, the land-
scape screen would aesthetically enhance this major traffic corridor
within Little Canada, benefiting the city and preserving the property
values of the residential homes in a small way.
This petition is submitted for adoption by the Little Canada City
Council and we request that it be sent on for consideration by the
Commissioner of the Department of Transportation. -
NAME : ADDRESS:
/55 Jci0) ae 'Jhaif
.e2ari - ulle
t;,., 1 °e -444,
✓`7704te avzi) cL Q
`/a.fd ,Mt -e. ci c ;isd
PAGE -2
