AMENDING ORDINANCE N0. 9 Regulating the use of waters within Scott County and amending Section XX regulating the speed on waters within the City of Prior Lake to read as follows: SECTION XX A. Definitions: These words or phrases, when used in this ordinance, have the following meanings: 1. "Slow -no wake" means the operation of a watercraft at the slowest possible speed necessary to maintain steerage. 2. "Prior Lake" is the body of water given that name and assigned the lake numbers 70-26 and 70-72 by the Department of Natural Resources. B. High Water Speed Limitations: During periods of high water, 904.0', as determined by the gauge located at the Wagon Bridge, or greater above mean sea level on Prior Lake, the City Manager of Prior Lake may, at his /her discretion, and upon notifying the Scott County Sheriff, impose a slow /no wake speed on such areas of the lake as may be necessary. Such restrictions shall become effective upon publication in the local paper as a news item or on a specified date whichever is later. All public water accesses, and private launch ramps shall be posted prior to and during the time the restrictions are in. place. In addition, notice of said restrictions shall be posted at the Prior Lake City Hail. Said restrictions shall be promptly removed when high water levels have subsided. C. Exemptions: Authorized resource management, emergency and enforcement personnel when acting in the performance of their duties shall be exempt from the restrictions in this ordinance. D. Effective Date: This ordinance shall become effective upon approval by the Commissioner of Natural Resources and passage. Passed by the County Board of Commissioners this 15th day of May , 1984.
