AMENDING ORDINANCE N0. 9 <br />Regulating the use of waters within Scott County and amending Section XX <br />regulating the speed on waters within the City of Prior Lake to read as <br />follows: <br />SECTION XX <br />A. Definitions: <br />These words or phrases, when used in this ordinance, have the <br />following meanings: <br />1. "Slow -no wake" means the operation of a watercraft at the <br />slowest possible speed necessary to maintain steerage. <br />2. "Prior Lake" is the body of water given that name and assigned <br />the lake numbers 70-26 and 70-72 by the Department of Natural <br />Resources. <br />B. High Water Speed Limitations: <br />During periods of high water, 904.0', as determined by the gauge <br />located at the Wagon Bridge, or greater above mean sea level on <br />Prior Lake, the City Manager of Prior Lake may, at his /her discretion, <br />and upon notifying the Scott County Sheriff, impose a slow /no wake <br />speed on such areas of the lake as may be necessary. <br />Such restrictions shall become effective upon publication in the <br />local paper as a news item or on a specified date whichever is later. <br />All public water accesses, and private launch ramps shall be posted <br />prior to and during the time the restrictions are in. place. In <br />addition, notice of said restrictions shall be posted at the Prior <br />Lake City Hail. <br />Said restrictions shall be promptly removed when high water levels <br />have subsided. <br />C. Exemptions: <br />Authorized resource management, emergency and enforcement personnel <br />when acting in the performance of their duties shall be exempt from <br />the restrictions in this ordinance. <br />D. Effective Date: <br />This ordinance shall become effective upon approval by the Commissioner <br />of Natural Resources and passage. <br />Passed by the County Board of Commissioners this 15th day of May , 1984. <br />ATTEST: <br />Page 26 <br />Joseph F.
