350 METRO /OURRE BLDG.
7TH 6 ROBERT /TREET/
/DIRT PAUL MR 55101
612 222.6423
August 10, 1981
Mr. Joseph G. Chlebeck, Clerk
City of Little Canada
515 Little Canada Road
St. Paul, MN 55117
Dear Mr. Chlebeck:
On June 11, 1981, the Metropolitan Council completed
its review of your comprehensive plan. During this
process, the Metropolitan Waste Control Commission
reviewed and commented on the sewer element of your
plan. These comments (attached) identified those
items that will be necessary to develop the sewer
element of the plan into a comprehensive sewer plan
under the requirements of the Metropolitan Waste
Control Commission Act, Minnesota Statutes, Chapter
473C.
This Act requires that each local government unit
within the Metropolitan area adopt a comprehensive
sewer policy plan for the collection, treatment and
disposal of sewage in accordance with the Council's
Water Quality Management Plan. The Act states that
construction of sewage facilities shall not be initiated
unless the governing body has determined the proposed
facilities are consistent with its comprehensive sewer
plan as approved by the Commission.
Each governmental unit, upon completion of the Council's
review of its respective comprehensive plan, is provided
with nine months to make any necessary modifications and
adopt its comprehensive plan. Upon adoption of your
comprehensive plan, it is requested that you submit the
modified sewer element of your comprehensive plan to the
Commission for review and approval at an early date.
Sincerely
Anthony C. nerre
Deputy Chief Administrator
cc: Commissioner Donald G.
