Fences - General Requirements. <br />1 • Permit Required. No person, firm or corporation shall construct or erect any fence without first <br />securing a building permit. <br />2. Locations. All Fences shall be located entirely upon the property of the fence owner unless the <br />owner of the adjoining property agrees, in writing, that such fence may be erected on the property <br />line of the respective properties. <br />3. Surveys. The City Building Officialjna require an applicant for a fence permit to establish his <br />true boundary line by a survey thereof to be mode by a Registered Land Surveyor. <br />5. No permit shall be issued for the construction of more than one (1) private garage structure for <br />each detached single family dwelling, except on the approval of a conditional use permit <br />according to the provisions of Section 921 of this Ordinance. Every detached single family <br />dwelling unit erected after the effective date of this Ordinance shall be so located on the lot <br />so that at least a two (2) car garage, either attached or detached, can be located on said lot. <br />6. Outdoor swimming pools with a capacity of fifteen hundred (1,500) gallons or with a depth of <br />three (3) Feet or more of water shall be fenced in compliance with F., 6. of this Section. <br />4. Construction and Maintenance. Every fence shall be constructed in a substantial, workmanlike <br />manner and of material reasonably suited for the purpose for which the fence is proposed to be used. <br />Every fence shall be maintained in such condition as to not become a hazard, eyesore or public or <br />private nuisance. All fences shall be so constructed that the finished side faces away from the <br />fence owner's lot. Prohibited Fences. Electric fences shall not be permitted, Barbed wire fences shall not be <br />permitted except as hereinafter provided. Required Fences - Swimming Pools. A fence at least four (4) feet in height shall completely enclose any underground pool, <br />and except as specifically provided in b. below, shall completely enclose any pool <br />constructed above ground. <br />b. The fence required in a. above shall not be required for any pool constructed above ground <br />which is equipped with a detachable ladder or a ladder which manually can be placed <br />in a position where access to the pool cannot be obtained by use of any such ladder. <br />7.
