WELTZIN
Director
and
County Engineer
PHYLLIS F. SPECKER
Administrative Assistant
The proposed development in Little Canada in the Demont Avenue corridor
has caused a certain amount of concern by our department, which I
indicated to you when we talked by phone last week. I asked my staff
to review the status of Demont Avenue, and their findings are that
the functional classification of Demont Avenue is a local road primarily
serving the residents in that area. We believe that roads that do not
perform a County function, as most local roads do not, are more appro-
priately administered by the municipality. After reviewing the staff
report, it is my desire to turn this roadway over to the City of Little
Canada, and I am hereby requesting your acceptance. Once you have
indicated your willingness to accept this roadway, we will request the
County Board to revoke the county road designation.
_4.--emWrtejS-
Kenneth E.
