MINNESOTA
SOIL AND WATER CONSERVATION DISTRICTS
RAMSEY SOIL AND WATER CONSERVATION DISTRICT
April 6, 1981
City of Little Canada
515 East Little Canada Road
Little Canada, MN 55117
Gentlemen:
Mid-Americo Bank Building
1627 North Saint Paul Rood
Maplewood, Minnesota 55109
Telephone (612) 777-0127
Mr. Stan Wenland submitted his review of Lot 9, Block 2 of Gervais Shores
as a building site to the Board of Supervisors of the Ramsey Soil and Water
Conservation District for their consideration. We accept his report.
The Board of Supervisors recommends that the City of Little Canada urge the
owner to proceed with caution. In view of the underlying soil materials,
the high potential for erosion, and the depth of fill at this site both
settling and down slope creep could occur leading to foundation damage
or collapse. Several tests should be conducted on the site by a Soils
Engineer to determine if the fill has suitably and uniformly settled
before construction is considered. Possibly, pilings into the original
soil materials may be necessary to insure a sound foundation. Also during
(and after) construction precautions should be required to prevent erosion.
Sincerely, L .i ce,aSC7
Russell S.
