Iw I LIS- V1 -I ILL LUIiIiLSI'UivuLNLL
DATE: March 20, 1981
TO: Suburban Utilities Superintendents Assoc.
FROM: Wm. Lloyd /. —77%
SUBJECT: WATER /SEWER RATES
Attached are current water /sewer rates from the recent survey.
Have tabulated them in declining order based on the cost per
1000 gallons. These tabulations are provided without consid-
ering minimums or service charges to give you an idea of the
relative position of your rate structure in relation to other
area communities.
In the alphabetical tabulation (page 1) the term "minimum +"
is used to indicate rate structures that have excess charges
(service charges) built into them. An example is a charge of
$3.00 for the first 1000 gallons and 61C per 1000 gallons there-
after. Obviously, there is a $2.39 service charge built into
that rate.
The use of odd quantities (Columbia Heights - 4488 gallons)
comes about because those Utilities measure the water in cubic
feet. The cubic foot quantities have been converted to 1000
of gallons for ready comparison.
I thank you all for participating and apologize for the long
delay in publishing the results. Copies are being mailed only
to the participating utilities.
If you have questions or suggestions, please feel free to call
me at 881 -5811, ext. 352.
WL:db
Attachments
3 "1
