private data on individuals shall be shown the <br />data without any charge to him and, if he de- <br />sires, shall be informed of the content and mean- <br />ing of that data. The Responsible Authority or <br />designee shall provide copies of the private <br />data upon request by the individual subject <br />of the data, and the, of providing copies <br />shall be borne by the individual. The Responsi- <br />ble Authority or designee shall comply imme- <br />diately, if possible, with any request made by <br />an individual under this paragraph, or within <br />five days of the date of the request, excluding <br />Saturdays, Sundays, and legal holidays, if imme- <br />diate compliance is not possible. If the Responsi- <br />ble Authority or designee cannot comply with <br />the request within that time, he shall so inform <br />the individual, and may have an additional five <br />days within which to comply with the request <br />excluding Saturdays, Sundays, and legal holi- <br />days. <br />If an individual contests the accuracy or <br />completeness of public or private data con- <br />cerning himself, and notifies in writing the <br />Responsible Authority describing the nature of <br />the disagreement, the Responsible Authority <br />shall within 30 days either correct the data <br />found to be inaccurate or incomplete and at- <br />tempt to notify past recipients of inaccurate <br />or incomplete data, including recipients named <br />- 4 - <br />by the individual; or notify the individual that <br />the Responsible Authority believes the data to <br />be correct. Data which is in dispute shall be dis- <br />closed only if the individual's statement of dis- <br />agreement is included with the disclosed data. <br />The Responsible Authority or designee <br />shall allow another Responsible Authority or <br />designee access to data classified as not public <br />only when the access is authorized or required <br />by statute or federal law. The data shall retain <br />the same classification in the hands of the a- <br />gency receiving it as it had in the agency provi- <br />ding it. A change in classification is permitted <br />if required by judicial or administrative rule per- <br />taining to the conduct of legal action or with a <br />specific statute to the data in the possession <br />of the providing or receiving agency. The Res- <br />ponsible Authority or designee when supply- <br />ing government data under this provision may <br />require the requesting Responsible Authority <br />to pay the actual cost of supplying the data. <br />Q The Responsible Authority or designee shall <br />prepare summary data from private or confi- <br />dential data on indviduals upon the request of <br />any person, provided that the request is in <br />writing and the cost of preparing the summary <br />data is borne by the requesting person. The Res- <br />ponsible Authority may delegate the power to <br />prepare summary data to the administrative <br />
