Minnesota Statutes 1980, Section 112.31, is amended by adding a <br />subdivision to read: <br />Subd. 7, The managers of a district wholly within the metropolitan are <br />shall number not less than five nor more than nine. They shall be selected <br />from a list of persons nominated jointly or severally by statutory and home <br />rule charter cities and towns having territory within the district. It shall be submitted to the affected county board <br />at least 60 days prior to the expiration, of the term of office. If the district affects more than one county, <br />distribution of the managers among the counties affected shall be as <br />directed by the board. Ten years after the order of establishment, upon <br />petition of the county board of commissioners of any county affected by the <br />district, the board after public hearing thereon, may redistribute the mana- <br />gers among the counties if such redistribution is in accordance with the <br />policy and purposes of this chapter.
