1660 CIVIC CENTER DRIVE TELEPHONE 484 -3371
eMINNESOTA 55113
June 16, 1982
Joseph G. Chlebeck, City Clerk
City of Little Canada
515 East Little Canada Road
Little Canada, Minnestoa 55117
Re: Hogsbreath Bar
Dear Mr. Chlebeck:
The Hogsbreath Bar on the corner of Rice Street and Little
Canada appears to be generating considerable problems, due
to its lack of adequate parking space. The patrons of the
bar have for some time now been parking on the Roseville
streets, rather than in the bar parking lot. This resulted
in a request from the police for traffic safety purposes, at
first, to prohibit parking along the west side of Rice Street
for fear of accidents. Undaunted by this, the patrons then
began to park on Transit Avenue, just west of Rice Street,
once again clogging up the street and causing an unsafe con-
dition. The'Roseville Traffic and Safety Committee again, at
the request of the police, posted "No Parking" on both sides
of Transit Avenue in an attempt to discourage this practice.
Even this two -block parking ban, however, has failed to cor-
rect the situation.
The residents on Woodbridge Circle, located one block west of
Rice Street off Transit Avenue, are now seeing the bar patrons
parking in front of their houses every night and causing dis-
ruptions, disturbances and a general lack of concern for the
residents.
The Roseville Traffic and Safety Committee is hesitant to ban
all parking in front of the residents' homes, inasmuch as this
prevents them from using their own street. It is requested
that the City of Little Canada investigate the parking situation
at the bar and determine if adequate parking exists for the
usage of this facility. If too many patrons are using the bar
in excessive of the ability of that establishment to provide
parking, then this should be curtailed, or additional parking
provided. It is difficult to understand how such a small es-
tablishment can meet the fire laws when so many cars apparently
need to have additional parking off the site.
9 -I
JUN 17 1982
CITY OF
ITTLE CANADA
