MINUTES
amity Council
April 22, 1981
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. Hanson.
Ayes (5) Scalze, Hanson, Forsberg, Nardini, Fahey.
Noyes (0).
Resolution declared adopted.
This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 7, Page 132.
Zilge & The Engineer reported that he has contacted propertyowners in the area
R & S of the Zilge property concerning providing road access through to
Property Woodlyn Avenue. A. C. Black has no objection to the proposal as
Division they have all their improvements in and would not be assessed for
additional road improvement. Mr. Donovan is not interested in the
improvement and stated that he would oppose it. Mr. Deeb does not
want an additional road. Mr. McGuff is also not interested in the
improvement. The Engineer reported that McGuff is storing equipment
on his property and the Engineer informed him that at such time as he
came in for a building permit, the City would probably require a road
easement from him.
Mrs. Scalze asked if Mr. McGuff could store equipment without a permit.
The City Clerk replied that under the new ordinance a permit is required.
Mr. Zilge reported that Mr. Deeb is not against an easement on his
property for emergency vehicles, but he does not want a road. Mr. Zilge
also stated that Preferred Sheetmetal, Field Economy, R & S and Empire
Bucket do not want a road. Mr. Zilge stated that R & S would just
like to build a storage shed. The shed would cause no additional
traffic in the area. The shed would be used to store parts and autos.
Mrs. Scalze informed Mr. Zilge that the City has no way to get access
into that area unless someone comes in for a building permit. Mrs.
Scalze stated that the City must provide for access for that property,
as in the next 20 years the property will change.
Mr. Fahey suggested that the Council require that a road easement be
dedicated along the water works property.
The Engineer stated that there were problems with some of the alternatives
the Planner proposed for road access, and suggested that the road
easement run along the water works property.
Bill Gervais asked the Council if anyone has contacted the water works re-
garding crossing the water works property to Ryan's development.
Mr. Forsberg suggested that the City Engineer look into this. The
Engineer stated that this alternative would be expensive as the
City would have to construct a bridge to go over pipes on the water
works property.
Mr. Forsberg introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 81 -4 -199 - APPROVING THE ZILGE PROPERTY
DIVISION CONTINGENT UPON THE GRANTING TO THE CITY OF A
40 -FOOT ROAD EASEMENT ALONG THE WATER WORKS PROPERTY
