CITY OF LITTLE CANADA
RAMSEY COUNTY, MINNESOTA
Office of:
JOSEPH G. CHLEBECK, Clerk
515 Little Canada Road
Little Canada, Minn. 55117
484 -2177
September 3, 1982
RECOMMENDATION
TO: City Council
FROM: Ed Locke
RE: Signs - Boat & Motor Mart
Ordinance No. 903.110 - Signs
Glenn Kloskin, owner of Boat & Motor Mart at 2768 No. Rice Street, is
asking for a variance of the Sign Ordinance No. 903.110. He is re-
questing the following:
1. Over the 10% maximum allowable limit.
MAYOR
Raymond Hanson
COUNCIL
Michael Fahey
Beverly Scalze
Dennis Forsberg
Mugs Nardini
2. The maximum number of pylon signs allowed for a single business.
3. For the edge of the sign to be one foot from the property line.
4. Over the area of 100 sq.ft. for free standing sign for Rice St.
with a maximum height of 22 ft.
In view of the fact that the goal of the Council is to make the signs
along Rice St. to conform as closely as possible to the Little Canada
Sign Ordinance No. 903.110, my recommendation would be to deny the
variance request and ask Mr. Kloskin to re- submit his sign variance
request to more closely meet the sign ordinance.
,
Edward E.
