Office of:
JOSEPH G. CHLEBECK, Clerk
515 Little Canada Road
Little Canada, Minn. 55117
484 -2177
REPORT
CITY OF LITTLE CANADA
RAMSEY COUNTY, MINNESOTA
DATE: February 3, 1982
TO: Members of City Council
FROM: Roger Glanzer, Superintendent of Public Works
RE: Sewer & Water Budget
MAYOR
Raymond Hanson
COUNCIL
Michael Fahey
Beverly Scalzā¢
Dennis Forsberg
Mugs Nardinl
This report is an itemized statement of all expenses, revenues and rate
charges for Sewer and Water Departments for the year ending December 31,
1981. It also contains a proposed statement for all expenses, revenues,
rate changes and ordinance changes for the year 1982.
There are several proposed changes, other than the rate changes. The most
important change is combining the Sewer and Water Departments into on
Utility Department. By combining sewer and water we would be sharing
revenues and expenses while keeping sewage treatment costs, water treat-
ment costs and rates separate. - The other important change is adding the
water service charge to all the 3532 SAC units instead of just the units
that use water (2061). What we are doing now is telling the people that
use water that they must pay for the maintenance of the whole system, so
that when other people hook up the system is in proper working order.
One other change that should be made is that our sewer and water ordinan-
ces should be rewritten and adjusted to pertain to our system. The pre-
sent ordinances were adopted from another City and are too general and
not complete/ for our situation.
Roger Glanzer
Superintendent of Public Works
6
