NEW WATER CHARGES TO BE COLLECTED
HYDRANT SERVICE:
There shall be an annual $15.00 service fee for fire hydrants, payable
by each owner (including the City) upon whose property such hydrant is
situated.
There are 25 private hydrants in the City which most do not get any
maintenance at all. In order to assure that these hydrants are usable
in case of a fire, I feel the City is obligated to maintain and make
all repairs to these hydrants.
AUTOMATIC SPRINKLER SYSTEM STAND BY SERVICE:
Where a connection is made to an automatic sprinkler system for stand
by service only, on either municipal or private water mains, a $100.00
charge for such service shall be made on an annual basis.
Ibis ordinance was in effect, but removed a few years ago. I recommend
that this ordinance be put back in effect, because it does cost the City
money to supply this service. By providing this service, it is reducing
their fire insurance premium by 80 %, which is a lot more than $100.00
per year.
