There is no duplicatic <br />of school system competitive sports. <br />The city totally maintains and provides the facilities. P.L.A.Y. <br />conducts fund - raisers and charges enough for registration fees <br />to cover the costs of the sport. All instructors are paid, <br />not volunteer. The association donates badsstops and other <br />facilities on city property. <br />There are 6 parks in the Prior Lake system (total 300 acres) <br />2/3 of these were purchased within the last 5 years, 1/3 have <br />been obtained through parkland dedication. <br />Prior Lake School District #719 has one high school, <br />one junior high, and two elementary schools. <br />P.L.A.Y. gets first priority on school facilities, <br />not the city program. <br />* Growth figure based upon Metropolitan Council estimates for the <br />year 2000 computed from 1978 data. <br />
