Planning Commission Minutes February 4, 1982 Page 2 LITTLE CANADA MALL: Norm Erode, an attorney for Viking Partnership appeared. Erving Marydais, Teddy Wong, Standard Real Estate, Inc. and Marian Newman would be owners of the Mall, MGM would be leasing the area. The building will be located far enough away from a school. The building will be brown like. The signage will be facing Minnesota Ave. and another one facing Viking Dr. - 100 sq. ft. on each sign facing Minnesota Ave. & Viking Dr. Mr. Erode had said the Viking partnership is working on a new plat. Mr. Erode brought the idea of a possible north -south street running across Viking partnership land. This would run between Minnesota Ave. and Viking Drive. Mr. .Erode said he is going to proceed with a new plat, and if the road situation is not resolved would go ahead with a part of the building with just the MGM store being con- structed. Lots 51, 1, 2, 3, 4 would be used for this MGM building. Sharon Timmons suggested that the Plan- ning Commission receive information on the traffic situation around Minnesota Ave. and Rice St. A motion was made by LeRoy LeMay to approve the prelim- inary plat of the Little Canada Mall to the Viking Partnership. Motion seconded by Gene DeLonais Motion approved 8 -0. GLEN VANGUILDER Glen Van Guilder appeared proposing a lot split at 475 Lot Split Viking Drive. Tom DuCharme suggested we table this matter until the next meeting. He informed the Commis- sion it was put on the agenda on Monday, February 1, 1982. Gene DeLonais made a motion to recommend approval of the lot split on approval of the Planner. Sharon Timmons seconded the motion. Approved 7 -1 Gene DeLonais made a motion to approve the recommenda- tion of a variance for two driveways. Myers Frattalone seconded the motion. Motion not carried 4 -4. 2
