PARK COMMISSION CITY OF LITTLE CANADA 515 Little Canada Rd. Little Canada, Mn 55117 Oct. 20, 1983 The regular meeting of the Park Commission of the City of Little Canada was held on the 20th day of October, 1983. The following members were present: Carl Spooner, Dan Drake, Bill Sanders, Elaine Zoch, and Lois Runyon. A motion made by Bill Sanders and seconded by Lois Runyon that approxi- mately 180 ft. of the Picha property be dedicated to the city for a right -of -way to match the existing NSP easement to the east of the property forfuture trail development. Motion passed. No one from the Park Commission could attend the Canadian Days meetings at this time, however, 2 months prior to the Canadian Days celebration, a representative will be sent to the meetings. Carl Spooner stated that it was the City Councils responsibility to decide on Jim Morelan's title for park purposes, to coincide with his park responsibilites. A plan for the park on Jackson and Lake street was presented by Bill Sanders, and was very acceptable. We need to know who owns the wet lands on the corner of Jackson and Demont. Bill will take the plan to City Council for their reaction. Bill will set up the meeting with Bev Scalze. The nature area could be a real benefit for the school children for nature study and pond study. The plan could be developed in 3 stages; the play and park area first, then the wetlands, and finally the area to Savage Lake. A motion was made by Elaine Zoch to present the plan to the City Council. Seconded by Bill Sanders. Motion passed. Before final action on the park plan takes place, Bill would like to meet with the neighborhood bordering County Rd. C, Jackson, Lakeshore, and Demont.
