Hanson Attached is an excerpt from the June 6Th Parks & Recreation Committee Meeting that discusses the Veteran's Memorial. Also attached are the last minutes from the Veteran's Memorial Committee and the design concept being considered. The Committee is seeking comments on two key areas. They are location/design considerations and cost participation. Location /Design: The Committee has selected the Round Lake area as the preferred site for the creation of the Veteran's Memorial. Attached is a concept sketch prepared by Bill Sanders that incorporates the existing Little Canada Road landscaping amenities in to the design. The Committee would welcome any comments the Council has regarding the site and preliminary design. Cost Participation: The Committee will be conducting fund raising efforts to help finance a significant portion of the proposed project, estimated to cost around $70,000. As noted in the Park & Recreation Committee minutes, the Veteran's Committee would like to know if the City would directly fund some components of this project; namely the parking bays on Little Canada Road and the sidewalks that would ultimately be part of the trail design for the area beyond the Veteran's Memorial. Based on some preliminary analysis by the City Engineer, he estimated the parking bay to cost about $17,000. The sidewalks are estimated at $17,000. That would leave 1
