Evans, City Manager, Maplewood
SUBJECT: St. Paul Pioneer Press - Dispatch Coverage
We have all discussed the news coverage provided by the St, Paul newspapers. I
believe that we agree it is inadequate, and usually incomplete. In addition,
it is not timely - unless it is something just too big to ignore,
It is recognized that it is easier for them to deal with one large city;
nevertheless, the suburban residents who equal city residents deserve better
media coverage. My suggestion is that we attempt to arrange a joint meeting
with the publisher and a representative from each interested city to discuss
our concerns, If the rest of you and your city are interested, I would be
happy to attempt to organize such a meeting.
cc: Dan Bucholtz, Suburban Chamber of Commerce
Thomas Carlin, Publisher
BRE:lnb
8
Grm
1V-4
JUL ,q 1983
CITY bit-
LITTLE CANADA
