l Minnesota Pollution Control Agency
Mr. Robert C. Mayeron, P.E.
Professional Services Group, Inc.
835 North County Road 18
Minneapolis, Minnesota 55441
Dear Mr. Mayeron:
Re: Infiltration /Inflow Analysis (I /I)
Golden Valley, Minnesota
Robbinsdale, Minnesota
Lauderdale, Minnesota
Little Canada, Minnesota
Brooklyn Park, Minnesota
EPA #C279999-04
R,t6 81983
Phone: •_,.
VC 3' r 6
(01117/OF
U i1'fI +CANADA'
A response to the following items is required before the Agency
can complete its review of the above mentioned
Infiltration /Inflow (I /I) Analyses.
1. Televising and cleaning costs - It was indicated at our
May 18, 1983 meeting that you had been experiencing low
cost quotations for sewer televising and cleaning. You
indicated that you would provide us with documentation of
these costs. As of yet we have not received the above
mentioned information. Because televising and cleaning
costs can constitute a significant portion of the total
SSES costs the closer these costs are to current day
estimates the more accurate the cost effectiveness analysis
will be. An accurate cost effectiveness analysis is the
key for determining whether a community has nonexcessive or
excessive I /I. The televising and cleaning costs for the
five analyses listed above vary from $1.75 /ft. to $1.20 /ft.
Once, the data on current costs for televising and cleaning
is obtained the cost analyses for the five communities
should be adjusted. It should then be determined, because
of these cost adjustments, if there is any effect on the
selected cost effective alternatives chosen for any of the
districts within any of the above mentioned five
communities.
.
1935 West County Road B2, Roseville, Minnesota 551132785
Regional Offices • DuluthlBraoerd.Dettoit Lakes•Marhall,Rochester
Equal Uphprlun:ty Employe(
