THOMAS M. SWEENEY
JAMES J. O'CONNOR
JOHN H. LeMAY
GEORGE F. BORER
SWEENEY, O'CONNOR & LeMAY
PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATION
ATTORNEYS AT LAW SUITE350
(612) 222-2541 NORTHERN FEDERAL BUILDING
SIXTH AND WABASHA
October 17, 1983 ST. PAUL, MINNESOTA 55102
Mr. Joseph G. Chlebeck
City Clerk
515 Little Canada Road
Little Canada, MN 55117
Re: Little Canada - Purchase of
City Property Ruth and Demont
Our File No. 4787
Dear Joe:
Erzwzi
OCT 18 1983
CITY OF
LITTLE CANADA
Please find enclosed with this letter the following
documents relating to the above file:
1. A proposed Resolution for Reconveyance and Purchase of
the above property for unrestricted use purposes,
2. A Reconveyance Deed to the State of Minnesota for the
property, and
3. An application for the purchase of property for
unrestricted use purposes.
The enclosed Resolution is necessary to enable you and the
Mayor to execute the Reconveyance Deed and the application forms.
It is my understanding that the next Council meeting is on
October 26, 1983, and the Resolution can be presented to the
Council at that time.
Before the City can purchase this property on an
"unrestricted use" basis, it must first reconvey the land to the
State of Minnesota. After the Resolution is passed, you and the
Mayor should sign the enclosed Reconveyance Deed, have it
notarized, and return it to me. I will then send it to the State
Department of Revenue for recording.
After the Reconveyance Deed is sent to the State, the City
must then apply to purchase the property through the Ramsey
County Land Commissioner's Office. You and the Mayor should sign
the enclosed Application for Conveyance of Tax Forfeited Lands in
two places, have it notarized, and return it along with a
certified copy of the enclosed Resolution to me. I will then
file these documents in the Ramsey County Land Commissioner's
Office and have him appraise the property. After the appraisal
is complete, the City can purchase the land for unrestricted use
purposes.
97
