The newly
constructed roadway surfacing has developed severe settle-
ment in the close proximity to the water main installation
trench under the above utility permit. At the present
time, settlement has been observed throughout an area
between 270 feet south of County Road "C" and 100 feet
north of County Road "C ". The settlement has resulted in
a surface drop of approximately four inches in many areas.
It is our opinion that this problem is the direct result
of inadequate compaction of the water main trench by your
Contractor, (Julian M. Johnson Construction Corporation),
under the above utility permit.
Until the above settlement area has been properly repaired,
I am recommending that the surety bond for this permit not
be released.
An Equn
