r <br />Additions to Personnel Ordinance <br />Add new paragraph (d) to Section 9 - Overtime - as follows: <br />(d) All other full -time employees - All such employees shall be entitled <br />to pay at the rate of time and one -half (11x) for all hours worked in excess of <br />40 hours per week, or in lieu thereof, the employee may elect compensatory time <br />off at the rate of 11 hours compensatory time for each hour worked in excess <br />of 40 hours per week. Use of compensatory time shall in all cases be subject <br />to the needs of municipal service and prior approval of the employee's Depart- <br />ment Head. Each Department Head shall be responsible for providing the City <br />Clerk with an accurate accounting of all such hours accrued and used by an <br />employee. "EXCEPTION: An employee who works in both a full -time and part - <br />time capacity with the City shall not be entitled to any overtime for work <br />performed as a part -timer until such employee's total hours worked (both full <br />and part -time) in a work week exceed 48 hours. Thereafter, such employee <br />shall be entitled to pay at the rate of time and one -half (111x) for all hours <br />worked as a part -timer which cause his /her total hours to exceed 48 hours, <br />with payment for such overtime hours to be based on his /her rate of pay as a <br />part- timer." <br />Section 10 - Legal Holidays: <br />Add new paragraph (c) as follows: <br />(c) Any full -time employee other than the City Clerk, Building Inspector <br />or Superintendent of Public Works, and any permanent part -time employee who is <br />required to work on any of the above named holidays shall be paid holiday <br />premium time at the rate of 2 hours pay for each one hour worked. <br />Section 6: Applications for Employment and Publication of notice of position <br />openings. <br />Applications for full -time or permanent part -time employment shall be filed <br />with the office of the City Clerk for all regular and temporary employee job <br />vacancies. Notice of all such vacancies shall be posted at City Hall for ten <br />(10) days, and advertised in the local newspaper normally used by the Council <br />for publishing official notices. The City Clerk may decline to accept applica- <br />tions which are filed at a time when no job vacancies exist. The City Clerk <br />is not required to accept applications for temporary part -time seasonal student <br />employment. <br />Add new Section 13 - Leaves of Absence & Emergency Leave <br />(a) Same as draft <br />(b) In the event an employee is unable to report for work because of extreme <br />weather conditions (e.g. winter blizzard), such employee may, upon the approval of <br />the Department Head, be granted leave without pay or vacation pay for the day(s) <br />in question. Such employee may also be allowed, upon approval of his Department <br />Head, to make up the time lost at straight time rate by working extra hours before <br />or after his /her regular shift, provided that all such time is made up within the <br />pay period in which the emergency leave day occurred. <br />
