RESOLUTION NO. 83 -04 <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br />RESOLUTION REGARDING COURT CONSOLIDATION IN RAMSEY COUNTY <br />WHEREAS, The Ramsey County League of Local Governments <br />established a study committee ro review the Ramsey County <br />Court Consolidation Study <br />WHEREAS, the study committee has issued a report on <br />the Court Consolidation Study <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of New Brighton <br />desires to comment on the issue <br />THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the position of the <br />City Council of the City of New Brighton is: <br />1) There should be a comprehensive cost - benefit <br />analysis of the impact of consolidation on the <br />county and municipalities. <br />2) There should be an assessment of the impact of <br />consolidation on users. <br />3) There should be an assessment of capital costs and <br />operational economics of three and one court <br />options. <br />4) There should be a strong role for municipalities <br />in the final decision making process. <br />Be It Further Resolved that until the aforementioned analysis <br />iw aampluted, the City Caunall al the City of Nuw nrlghton <br />opposes a reduction in the present five -court system. <br />Be it Further Resolved that a copy of this resolution <br />shall be transmitted to the Ramsey County League of Local <br />Governments, the Board of County Commissioners, the Ramsey <br />County Municipal Court Administration and Ramsey County <br />Municipalities. <br />Adopted this 11th day of January , 1983. <br />Gregg Harcus, Mayor <br />) <br />2 <br />i <br />dames W.
