RAMSEY COUMY
January 24, 1983
Ramsey County
DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS
3377 North Rice Street
Saint Paul, Minnesota 55112
(612) 484 -9104
Mr. Joseph G. Chlebeck, Clerk
City of Little Canada
515 East Little Canada Road
Little Canada, Minnesota 55117
JAN 213 1383
CITY OF
LITTLE CANADA
Divisions of:
Engineering
Maintenance
Mobile Equipment
Environmental Services
"No Parking" on Edgerton Street
I would like to thank you for the opportunity to meet with you and your
staff and council member on Monday, January 17.
I feel that I may have overemphasized the city's responsibility in admin-
istering the parking regulations. As a county road, the maintenance
operation and parking regulation is the responsibility of the County. It
has been our practice not to respond to individual requests on parking
issues. We do, however, to the best of our ability, accommodate organiza-
tional requests and would respond to the city's request in as favorable a
manner as possible.
Accompanying is a request and our correspondence for a marathon utilization
of the county road system. This is typical of the information we get and our
manner of responding to it.
We feel that responding to individual issues on Edgerton Avenue regardless
of whether they address funerals, weddings, etc., should come through the
city. As we discussed at our meeting, a verbal request from the city can
be responded to. We will contact the Sheriff's Office regarding the issue,
and we would ask that you follow with a written request for our files. This
is especially helpful in the event that our administration of the parking
regulations at a given time are questioned.
Thank you for the manner in which you have included us in this issue, and we
look forward to working with you as be Meets the objectives of the City of
Little Canada.
ayne,R.
